360 Degree Report – Structure

A 360 Degree Report is the most important part of the whole assessment. If you are making a 360 Degree Report by yourself, it is very important that you know how to do it well. If you miss a certain element, that could effect the whole assessment drastically.

Some 360 Degree reports differ in certain ways. Some companies prefer to do them in a certain way, and others prefer to do them a different way. So there is room for creativity and innovation.

However, there are certain elements that always have to be in a 360 Degree Report. Some key elements that make this whole assessment so powerful. It also makes it really useful to both the employee, and the employer.

Every report has this. It is a graphical representation of an employee’s main competencies. The web compares their self-evaluation with feedback from other raters.

It is visually appealing and very easy to understand.

Competency Summary

This is a numerical and graphical representation of an employee’s rating. It compares your self-perception about certain competencies, with the perception of other raters.

This is the meat of the report. This is the main part on which any HR Manager will focus most of their attention on. This will be a basis for any further development of an individual. HR teams will consider this, when they are planning developmental and educational courses or coaching.

Free Text Questions

This is a very interesting part of 360 Degree Reports.

These are comments written in a free format. It is very interesting to compare the comments a certain employee has made about himself, with the comments of other raters. The comments are completely secure and anonymous.

There you have it. And again, some reports will have some other elements, graphics etc. But this is the core basis of this report. Every 360 Degree Report will have these elements, or at least, some variation of them.
