So let’s look at a few factors.
Preparing yourself for the hiring interview
There are a lot of blog articles explaining to applicants how to prepare. However, you also have to be prapared for the interview. There are a few factors that come into play here.
Don’t Rush
First of all, you should never be in a desperate position. Don’t try to rush the hiring process, or you will choose the wrong person for sure. Think ahead, and don’t try to replace an employee in a rushed manner. Patience.
Social Media
Next, make sure to check out their social media accounts. Look, we are living in 2020, it would be absurd to hire someone and not look at their social media accounts. Check what kinds of content they are posting and if it matches with your company values.
Impression
And finally, keep an open mind, while still following your instincts. First impressions shouldn’t be set in stone, and you should be open to new knowledge about a candidate. However, there is also a strong point to be made for first impressions. We get them for a reason. If you notice that a certain person really gives off a confident and charismatic impression, take note of that. Do the same if the person gives off a nervous and shy impression.
The thing is, if you instantly got that impression off a person, that means others will as well. And depending on which position the person is applying for, it will make a difference. If you are looking for a salesman, than a shy and nervous applicant may not be the best choice. However, if you are looking for a programmer, than it doesn’t really matter, does it?
These were some of the tips for preparing yourself for the interview.
