360 Appraisal: What questions should you ask?

When people try to make a 360 Appraisal qustionnaires by themselves, the same question always appears.

What should I ask the participants?

Now the answer to that question will vary based on the position that the assessed person has in the company, and the specific job that they are doing.

However, there are some universal traits and skills that you are always looking for in your employees, no matter what job they are doing.
Those are the skills that will positively benefit your company and the work that you do.. Some of these include traits like leadership, communication skills, motivation, problem solving, efficiancy and many others.

In this article we will give you a few example questions to ask when assessing the traits of leadership and teamwork, which are some of the most frequently assessed for any role. The point of this article isn’t neccessarily to literally copy these questions (although you could), but rather, give you an idea of what kind of questions are useful to ask in a 360 Appraisal questionnaire.

Responds to other employees mistakes constructively (0 – 5)

Is open for new ideas (0 – 5)

Works well in a team (0 – 5)

There you have it. This is just a simple example of the kind of questiones you can ask the raters in your 360 Appraisal.

A lot of online 360 Appraisal softwares, like Best360, offer a already existing database of the most efficient questions for each category, while also giving you the option of customising the questionnaire to your wishes, adding new questions, creating a list of questions from scratch etc.
