How to Write a Quality Resume

A resume is something that employers will recognize and remember us by. Without a resume, we cannot even apply for a job because the employer needs to know in advance who he is dealing with and whether he should spend his time on a certain person. Of course, with a good resume, you must confirm everything written in it during the interview with employer. A resume says a lot about us, about our experiences, knowledge, and skills, so writing a quality one is critical.

In this article, we will discuss some tips for writing a quality resume.

How to write a quality resume

Be honest

Always put only what is true in your resume. It is better to have one skill or one work experience less that to put yourself in situation where you cannot confirm what is written.

Personal information

Firstly, add your personal information, including your name and surname, gender, birth date and place, phone number, address, e-mail address. You can also add your personal web sites like LinkedIn.

Education

Elementary and high school, collage, graduation date, courses, and certificates.

Work experience

Concentrate on your work experience, list all your work experiences in chronological order. Also, for each job, include the skills and responsibilities required from you. Include soft skills and highlight tech skills. Don’t forget to include your summer jobs, internships, volunteer work and similar.

Be unique

Highlight all skills that are relevant to the position or company. Add your language skills, digital skills, social skills, completed courses, diplomas and awards, participations in projects, etc. Also, don’t forget to include your hobbies and interests.

Tips

– Be concise and clear.

– Write only the most important things; the details will be checked in the interview anyway.

–  Examples of how to write your flaws: I focus too much on the details, I have trouble saying “no”, always investing 100% of myself in each task, I’m a perfectionist, and so on. Remember to always portray your weaknesses in a positive light.

The most important thing to remember is that you always should know your resume and be prepared for a job interview, as well as be able to prove everything written on your resume.
